Glazing
All glass supplied are double
glazed units manufactured to BS 5713 and BS 6262 standards.
As standard, all window and door glazing is fitted with Pilkington
“K” glass; the low emissivity glass which with
our 5-chambered pvcu profiles, exceeds the required U-Value
of 2.0, conforming with Document L standard of current Building
Control Standards.
All gasketing used in the Elite 70 system is concealed and
factory applied. No additional application of gasket is required.
All opening sashes are factory-glazed to decrease installation
time and breakage. All fixed light sections are “loose-glazed”
to facilitate better transport and handling protection.
Glazing Blocks; are critical to the successful operation of
the window system. Window and Door frames must have blocks
applied to the areas shown below to ensure balanced glass
unit placement within the frame to facilitate correct weight
distribution. This procedure, known as “toeing and heeling”
ensures that opening sashes maintain their opening and closing
functions correctly.
